EARTHWORKS

EARTHWORKS HAPPENS EVERY WEDNESDAY FROM 10.30-12.30
The last firing for the year is a lustre firing and it will be ready to take home for our last day of opening which is Friday 19th December
We have great facilities for doing claywork at Artsenta. In the pottery room we have an electric potters wheel an electric kiln, a pugmill for recycling clay and a range of clays, slips, stains and glazes for enhancing our forms and surfaces. Earthworks happens on a Wednesday morning from 10.30-12.30 in the pottery room. Come and see Greta if you wish to join in this class. We are very flexible as to what you may wish to make. Sometimes artists suggest projects or objects they feel inspired to make which may span several classes. I am here to help you translate your ideas successfully into clay which could mean learning a particular hand-building technique or choosing and using a mould. You may even wish to make your own pattern or mould. At other times I have requests to learn more traditional techniques. Several people have shown interest lately in learning how to throw on the potters wheel...so this could be a good starting point for 2009. Come along on Wednesday January the 7th with some fresh ideas and we will go from there. Beginners are welcome as are people who have already done some pottery.
