Monarch Trip![]() Thanks to Gallery De Novo, Amanda Waugh (of Waugh's) and a collection of local designers - funds were raised for us to use to have fun, as a result we hired the Monarch and went for a cruise on Dunedin harbour, members of BiPolar Network and Tapestry Clubhouse joined us on a fabulous day on the sunny Dunedin Harbour. We were treated to the rare opportunity to be surrounded by Buller Albatross at Tairoa Heads. Here are some of photo's from the day. | Making Tracks![]() In March 2010 with the assistance of a grant from the CNZ Creative Communities DCC, Artsenta held a group exhibition at the Art Station in the historic Dunedin Railway Station. |
EARTHWORKS fresh from the kiln![]() We take an exploratory approach to ceramics at Artsenta. There is the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of building up clay structures whether it be on the potters wheel or using hand techniques such as pinching, coiling, slabwork or working with moulds. We have an electric kiln at Artsenta and an assortment of coloured slips and underglazes for enhancing surface and texture. Combined with the two claybodies available -Abbots red and Abbots white and a small selection of favourite Artsenta glazes - Jade, Blue Heaven and Toffee -apple some exciting results emerge from the kiln . Earthwork classes happen every Wednesday 10.30-12.30. Greta is on hand to help you translate your ideas into clay. |
