I have enjoyed having the freedom to experiment with a variety of 3D mediums that Artsenta provides. Working with glass casting and with clay is new to me and I have found it satisfying in that in both there is an element of unpredictability to the finished products. This is challenging for a life-long perfectionist but, in that, it also adds more to the anticipation of seeing the final fired piece. Trying not to have a concrete pre-conceived idea of an end product in any of my pieces allows the shapes to grow more organically – and stops the frustration of not being able to make what is in my head as I learn. It’s these pieces that give me more satisfaction and a sense of achievement. I find talking with and watching other artists at work stimulating and I leave each day having learned something new and with more creative ideas.
